PROMISE
The one thing I do hate about promises is that you have to keep them. As History has it, the first promise ever made was from God to man; back then it was a huge deal, for instance, the promised land, Abraham was promised a son and the Isrealites were promised God's protection, but it wasn't long before man took matters into their own hands and started making solid promises between countries in form of treaties, laws etc. Then came marriages as lifetime promises people made to each other in form of vows and finally like everything else that man plays around with, came to loose meaning. "I promise" two words that have become a total cliché for the actual opposite of the promise. I don't know if it is bad luck or accidental but when one makes a promise they often fail to deliver, not because they don't want to but because of unavoidable circumstances.
